David Delano

Project Director

Mr. Delano is a Senior Project Director with Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative. David has over 32 years of experience in the field of health informatics, information technology development, programming, systems management and IT strategic leadership. Under a services agreement between NEHEN and Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative, David presently serves as the Executive Director for NEHEN, Inc. which is a self-sustaining regional Health Information Exchange. He is responsible for all operations of the HIE including P&L, Services and Development. Much of David’s career has been centered on collaborative process improvement and innovative uses of technology to drive new models of care delivery. Concurrently, with his NEHEN responsibilities, David oversees the overall development and services of the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative clinical data warehouse and quality measure reporting product, known as the Quality Data Center or QDC. The QDC is a ONC-ACB certified that now serves the quality improvement and reporting needs of several enterprise customers (remove the rest of the sentence following). David is also the technology services Director for Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative and the Corporate Security Officer.

Prior to his time with Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative, David served as health system CIO for Northern Berkshire Healthcare (North Adams Regional Hospital & affiliates) and served as a member of the Senior Executive Team. While at NBH David chaired several clinical automation steering committees including the community-wide EHR and HIE deployment steering committee, and the inpatient CPOE Steering Committee. David also led the implementation of a community-wide shared electronic health record project and a community health information exchange initiative, as a part of the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative project in North Adams, MA. He also managed the overall delivery of IT services and support for the healthcare community including VNA services, Long-Term care, and physician practice IT support.
