Project Intro

MAeHC advised state leaders in the planning of the statewide HIE to align the Commonwealth’s HIE Strategic and Operational Plan with the State Medicaid Health Plan (SMHP). MAeHC then advised EOHHS in the funding, design, and launch of the Mass HIway, the first statewide HIE in the nation to utilize 90:10 Medicaid funding for core HIE infrastructure. MAeHC also provided subject matter expertise and facilitation support for the HIT Council, the multi-stakeholder governance body the oversees the Mass HIway. Under the HIT Council MAeHC launched 4 multi-stakeholder Advisory Groups to bring expertise and perspective to the HIT Council while building and maintaining stakeholder support. MAeHC manages and staffs the Mass HIway account management function which provides on the ground recruiting and onboarding support to over 400 healthcare organizations. Today the Mass HIway is a vibrant statewide HIE with over 400 participating organizations sending over 7 million transactions over the Mass HIway every month.
